John Wright And Virender Sehwag
Virender Sehwag always played by his own rules, and John Wright was concerned about his careless approach to the game and the batting. However, there was one particular game when India needed a good opening. Virender Sehwag threw his wicket while playing a very loose shot, and Wright had a request to his colleague Dravid that if Sehwag got another foul shot, he would have a go at him. Sehwag got the message and didn’t care about his coach’s threat. Sehwag didn’t bother to change anything, so his coach grabbed his collar and blasted him on the field. Sehwag wasn’t too mad about this and just promised to play better.
Farokh Engineer And Sunvil Gavaskar
1971: they chose Farokh Engineer and Sunvil Gavaskar for the “Rest of the World.” team. However, Fakorh being older than Sunvil, told him to take it easy and said:
“Don’t get out for a duck, as the walk back to the pavilion is the longest you will ever experience here in Melbourne.”
So, karma came. Farokh walked out of the field, and Gavaskar had the last giggle.
Saschin’s Wise Words
In 2011, in the final match of the world cup, there needed to be a better understanding of a coin flip, where they flipped the coin twice. That happened because the referee couldn’t hear Sangakkara’s call. Sangakkara made a wrong call, and when the referee asked, he didn’t confirm what he had told them. Team India was mad about this cheating, and their focus was all over the place, but it needed to be where it should be – on the game. That’s where Saschin stepped up and talked with players. If he didn’t give them some of his winsome, they would likely lose that game because of focus issues.
Virat Kohli’s
Everybody knows that Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh were the two most notorious pranksters in dressing rooms. So when Virat Kohli came to his first game, he was stressed and couldn’t relax. So these two approached him and told him to touch Saschin’s feet, and he will get his blessings. They also said to him that was a common practice for rookies. Well, he believed it, and he did it. After the game, Saschin’s told him that it was a prank on him by these two prank masters of the team.
Team Prank On Dada
At the time, Sourav Ganguly was a captain. He wasn’t allowing a lot of fun on the field, he was bold and quite thick to his players, but he was motivating them to improve. There are two leading players in this story, Yuvraj and Ashish Nehra. They told him they wouldn’t play under his captaincy, and some statements he made hurt a lot. Ganguly said he would quit, all while having tears in his eyes. When the coach saw that the prank got too far, he told him that its a joke. Of course, Ganguly picked up a bat and started chasing them all.
