BAM Coaching Director Rexy Mainaky shares our hopes and emphasizes that we’re aiming for nothing less than the titles. While the competition is fierce, our athletes have put in their best efforts and are ready to turn home advantage into motivation. With proven World Tour winners in our ranks, including Lee Zii Jia, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah, and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei, the stage is set for some thrilling badminton action.

The Malaysia Open 2024 Matchups

As the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2024 approaches, let’s take a sneak peek at the matchups for our Malaysian badminton players in the first round. In the Men’s Singles category, Lee Zii Jia is set to face China’s LU Guang Zu, while Ng Tze Yong will meet Japan’s Koki Watanabe. Among the four Malaysian Men’s Doubles teams, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik will take on Denmark’s Rasmus KJÆR and Frederik SØGAARD in the opening round.

Goh Jin Wei will be the sole representative for Malaysia in the Women’s Singles, going against Taiwan’s SUNG Shuo Yun. In Women’s Doubles, Malaysia boasts three teams, and lastly, there are four Malaysian Mixed Doubles pairs participating in this prestigious tournament.
